For winter riding, I just go with a generic hooded windbreaker and layer up as needed underneath. If I don't need the hood, I stuff it down the inside back. Otherwise, it fits under the helmet quite nicely for another 20 degrees or so head protection before needing a beanie. My current is some variation of this from Columbia:
