Giant Revel
I began riding via the purchase of a Giant mountain bike. At the "point of purchase" I was undecided whether to purchase a mountain bike or a road bike. The salesman said, "If you can't decide I would recommend a mountain bike. You can always ride a mountain bike on the road, but a road bike would not hold up to off-road riding." The Revel has carried me along roads on the Panhandle of Florida and throughout the countryside of East Anglia, UK. It seems clear that a road bike would have been the better choice, since I have never ridden the bike off-road.
This thread is for road bike, so I will hold off on posting a picture of my bike, unless the thread owner will allow a mountain bike photo. But, I'm reading the Road Cycling section to learn more about riding, and road riding, to better inform my next bike purchase.
It's a sunny Saturday...time to get outside and enjoy a ride!
