As far as I know doing #1 or #2 would make a weak spot in the chain, since the pins lose the peening/ mushrooming/ whatever it’s called and are not secured in the plates anymore. Also the outer plate holes for the pin could also get a little bigger, right ?
Since the x10 comes with a master link, doing #3 will result in two master links in the chain, would this be a problem ?
#1 You cant use that method for 10sp chains because the pins are peened.
#2 There are no replacement pins for KMC. Only Shimano has them. Use an extra masterlink instead.
