Thanks guys. Those rims are exactly what I was looking for. I think I'll order a set. I'm going to keep it friction shift with the same derailleurs it has on it now. It has the original paint that has been touched up but it's pretty rough. I plan to leave it as is. I rode it last year with cheap 27 x 1 1/4" tires and it was fine. I just want something more durable so I can go a little farther away. I plan on retiring in another 6 years and would like to go on a long bicycle tour. If I do It will be with a different bike. I do all my long distance touring on my Honda ST1300 now
