I'd argue that it is a de facto co-op. All profits are plowed back into the company. Grant only pays himself a salary, there's no cash buildup. There are no plans to ever put the company up for sale.

Who knows what might happen in the future. There's clearly value to the Rivendell brand.

Compare and contrast to the REI model, tell me what the differences are.
