My English Club Bike
I love the bikes in this thread, so I thought maybe we could revive it. While patiently waiting for a bike like my 1958 Birmingham built Sun Cresta to come along, I acquired a '71 Robin Hood drop bar "Sports Model" 3 speed which is a fine bike but the Sun is more the iconic British Lightweight. While on a Sunday morning solo ride last fall a group of plastic bike guys invited me to join their morning ride. As nice as the RH is, it can't run with those guys.
The Sun is all original and runs a single Williams CR and a Benelux RD shifting up and down a 14T to 22T five speed freewheel. The Robin Hood SA AW hub was switched from a 18T to 21T cog to suit my riding.
