I don't think I'd change anything on this bike other than the contact points to fit you (saddle if need be, pedals, stem length). This is a really good build. I always liked that short cage deore XT RD. Shimano stuff shifts great. This is a fine build. I might just show up with a bike with a similar build (sans brifters,
