Sheldon's diagnostics are based on cyclical creaks, tied to pedalling or wheel rotation. mine is random, irregular.

Did you check Sheldon's page, or the search for similar issues that I referenced earlier? It's a waste of time to explore random guesses before doing logical, organized troubleshooting. A creak could be BB mounting issues, chainring bolt looseness/corrosion, contamination at the pedal/crank/bb interface, pedal cage flex, cleats, etc.
