The Palm Desert/Springs area has some incredible cycling. The local club Desert Bicycle Club - Home has multiple rides 5 days a week. Most leave from the Palm Desert Civic Park area which is about 9 miles from Palm Springs. The Saturday rides also have multiple options for speed and availability. During peak season the Saturday and Sunday rides can easily have over 50ppl. In May the rides are definitely smaller groups, guests are always welcome and the people leading/participating in the rides are awesome.

There is also a slightly smaller faction of us that have an alternate Saturday ride that leaves from the Trainer Connection in Palm Desert as well. My favorite of all the rides are the Sunday World Gym Ride, Saturdays, and the Thursday ride up the Ritz.

For bike rentals, there are a few places with good quality road bikes. Just bring your helmet, pedals, shoes. Kevin at Bikeman in Palm Desert prbably has the best demo bikes including fully equipped Pinarello's and Cervello's. Tri A Bike also has a large selection.
