I don't own any of these bikes, but I've test ridden both the Domaine and the Synapse. The reason I like the Synapse and dislike the Domaine relates to the differing frame geometry and the specific characteristics that I prefer. This obviously has nothing to do with bang for the buck or what might work for you. AFAIK, both brands are nearly neck and neck with features and value.

For this reason, I recommend that you refresh this post after you've experienced them first hand and have developed a sense of their unique personalities.
