I am not an expert- but in most CF applications one does not thread the CF directly: but rather glue in an insert that is then threaded (like aluminum). I'd be surprised if the cf itself is threaded (though it can be done). Id be less surprised if hanger had simply been glued in place.

in any case, for you- i'd consider just finding a hanger that fits fairly snug and using some epoxy.
