Bikes: '85, '86 , '87 , '88 , '89 Centurion Dave Scott Ironman.

Ive attached a pic to show the threads, however as jetboy theorized it could just be the layered CF.
My original intention was to replace with a cage bolt to preserve integrity not to necessarily use the chain hanger. Because as we all know early CF was still a work in progress and later CF still has issues.
Looking at the lugs it resembles jbweld which i know its not but i could use it, maybe.
Also the cable guides seem to be glued and riveted.
Next will be locating an appropriate chain stay guard. I was thinking aluminum, then clear as I like that carbon look, however I don't want to damage the clear coating.
I'm gonna make some changes to it, and total rebuild, pics to follow. I'm just enjoying it too much to stop and overhaul. As much as I dislike admitting it, it does seem to ride maybe slightly better than the steel, but the anxiety of waiting for it to "assplode" as canklecat has mentioned, may render it not worth riding..... nah its worth it. Hey we all gotta go sometime, might as well be riding on a Centurion Ironman. I've got to admit my fantasy way of dying is to be shot by a jealous husband when I'm 100 years old.
