Sadly the only right choice the cyclist had was to bail off the road at speed. The cyclist instead choose to brake and make a slight turn just before getting hit.
Not the cyclist fault, but a little more early fear may have helped him get out of the way. Still likely would have ended up with bruises and road rash, but that would have been better than a head on.
