I'm not worried about stress because the Schwinn swing arm is a bit overkill and the thickness of metal is much greater than on newer bikes, also, I only weigh 125 pounds.

I was able to find the '05 all mountain 3 for a fair price, but I am weight countious and that fork is on the heavy side - I don't want to go over 4.3-4.4 pounds. Does anybody know the exact weight of this thing?
The S-30 (especially the current ones) is not a all mountain kind of bike and won't handle the stresses involved, especially when you're planning on fabricating a rear shock mount to take the bike outside it's design parameters.
Do you have ANY experience with suspension fabrication, and machining parts?
If it were me I'd be looking to get a different bike if I wanted more travel rather than trying to Mickey Mouse an old frame beyond it's lmits.

If it's the newer Wal-Mart version you might as well chuck it in the dumpster rather than make any effort at upgrades
