Livestrong at the YMCA
Yesterday was my third day of Livestrong at the Y. It's a 12 week program for cancer survivors, two 90-minute workouts per week designed to rebuild strength and muscle mass. It also includes a 3-month membership to the Y, all for free.
I've been alternating days at the gym and riding on the road, except when it snows. They're calling for 6 to 12" tomorrow. I guess that means gym. Already I'm feeling the difference, especially in my upper body.
Lance may have turned out to be a disappointment, but as a survivor, he can still be an inspiration. I give credit to his foundation as well as Jim Valvano's, for possibly leading to the treatments that have saved my life. I will not be riding in the Tour, but the fact that I'm riding at all is a victory.
