A-ha. Thank you. I did that and I also observed that the cage was a bit wide. So I took a channel locks and squeezed the front derailleur cage a tad narrower. Thinking this would shift sooner both up and down. It does. It's dark out now and still needs a test ride on the road but it works in the living room. We all work on bikes in the living room right?
