99% of the time I'm in a "public" place in my cycling kit, I biked to get there. So I have helmet in hand and other accessories, living near Minneapolis, most people get it and the rest remain silent.
The other 1% makes me smile - I drive to gravel races in rural areas and I have a habit of hitting a McD's for a breakfast sandwich on the way to race. Walking in with kit to get my pre-race food, I know I get a lot of looks.
