Nothing to do with your crank/cotter pins is that your rear tire is badly "dry rotted" and really should be replaced soon. It's the front tire that is the more concerned one too. If it's in the same shape and it's casing finally fails during the wrong moment pray that your helmet has a face guard and you know how to fall without breaking a collar bone. Andy
