I'm new at this, and it didn't even occur to me to consider what the implication of putting significantly wider tires on the stock rims would be.
The implications of 2.15" tires on 17.5mm rims are that it may feel a little squirmy when cornering hard at lower pressures. It won't be a problem going straight with lower tire pressure or cornering with higher pressure.
You'll probably pressure a lower pressure off road and a higher pressure on pavement.
