Aerotech Pro shorts with their tan/black microfiber faux-chamois is very thin, about like old school leather. It's just a hunk of microfiber cloth with very little loft. Nothing like the thick 3D sculpted padding.

But the stitching still looks like what it is -- bike shorts with padding. The padding itself isn't much, though. It doesn't look like a Depends. More like a Light Days pad.

Aerotech and others also offer tri shorts with no padding, or just a very thin bit of microfiber cloth to reduce abrasion. They're used with those tri saddles with padding under the sitbones and cutouts for perineum relief, often with no nose to speak of. So the padding is redundant.
