Bikes: '96 Litespeed Catalyst, '05 Litespeed Firenze, '06 Litespeed Tuscany, '20 Surly Midnight Special, All are 3x10. It is hilly around here!

I always install a new link with a new chain. I do keep used ones in my on-bike tool bags as emergency repair item if I or another rider need to repair a damaged chain but these aren't expected to be used long term.
