I think I am in the quantity over quality camp. I donīt baby my rides because I got them cheap. A new handcrafted in China seapost at Performance costs more than the amount I paid for some of them. So vintage steel is better than handcrafted in China titanium.

Titanium has one specific benefit over steel in that it does not corrode, which could be of interest to someone whose bike is exposed to salt brine and might otherwise end up with seized pedal spindles.
