Given the ever changing limits on batteries (especially LIoN) on airplanes, I'd think an ebike only strategy could be iffy for Brompton.

Mostly the difference is how fast I get where I'm going (my physical effort is more or less constant); in addition it greatly increases my days ridden (due to the time savings). In fact, I got rid of my car, I do all of my commuting by bike. Currently, I use a Dahon when traveling but planning to upgrade to something better (downtube mini, Brompton, or ?).
