Brake levers could have had the gum (white) hoods removed and safety levers added. We did this to lots of bikes, many more than the other way around.

Curious about those brake levers as they were not supposed to be original but this is not the first '73 Grand Sports I have seen with the turkey levers. Hoping for a nice clean up.
