Had a Rivendell Bleriot 650b that I built a set of wheels for. It was a SON 28 hub and it is/was as "notch(ity)" as described above as well as smooth as glass once rolling. I already knew this going in as I researched ahead of time and spoke to Peter White about it. I paired that with a Schmidt E6 Halogen and at the time was quite fine. Am building up a new "Enduro" bike albeit am ditching the Schmidt hub in favor of a SP Dynamo PV-8. Reviews and a couple of decades of Chinese product use clinched my decision to have a quality Dynohub at a minuscule cost. LEDs are the way and I have a Schmidt Edelux ready to be paired with this after I build the wheels. In any case, Dyno's are fantastic. You most definitely can pair a light and charger to the Dynohub. Busch and Muller makes the Luxos U which has a USB port to charge your phone. Technology is wonderful.
