Optimal pressure reportedly allows for a 15% deformation as the tire rolls. The neat thing about tubulars is that you can reduce pressure a bit without worrying about pinch flats. I gave up tubulars when I moved to San Diego County and discovered goathead thorns, but I do miss them, and it would be cool to run them on the Sieger, which came originally with tubulars.
