So, after I got it home, I stripped everything down to the frame and forks, lubed the H/S and BB, got rid of all that free grease, and the cemented-in bearings and varnish and bugs. Cleaned all the paint and graphics, and thought that before I stripped it to bare metal for the repaint (so I could use that great set of decals I had), I'd just try a few touchups to see how my color-matching would go. Well, maybe just a little more. Then, huh, the old paint doesn't look so bad anymore. Another save for original paint! Anyone need an aggravating set of UO-8 decals?

I opted for an upgrade on components, some higher-end drivetrain stuff, Simplex Competition FD, Criterium RD and Shifters, Normandy Luxe hubs with Weinmann Alesa clinchers, Ideal 80 saddle, AVA bars and stem, good old Panaracer's, and a Stronglight 54 crankset. Took her out for a 12-mile shakedown, and it fit like a glove. Honestly couldn't tell the difference from my PX-10, since I'm really just a casual rider, anyway.
