Bikes: Looking for the next one.

1953 Claud Butler

Curious about your thoughts as to the value of this latest acquisition. It's a bit of a "basket case" but the price was right (I think. Ha.) I will have fun and learn a lot while I figure it out and get it back on the road (one way or another.)

Serial number identifies it as February, 1953.

Reynolds 531 with bilaminate lugs. Other knowledgeable collectors believe it is the New Allrounder model. Still figuring out what parts are original, what are not. (Obviously, pedals and stem/bars are "way off" in terms of period correct.)

Fork has been repainted. May have been other sections repainted as well...haven't had a chance to "dig into it". Pretty certain the downtube decals are wrong. Not sure it would have originally have had a white section on the downtube either.

Will be a fun project whatever I end up doing with it.

Your thoughts on value will help me think through what I will do with it.

Other feedback - information - etc. greatly appreciated.
