I don't have anything carbon yet but my next purchase was either going to be Ali with carbon forks or full carbon ... this may affect my decision as I was on the fence about it anyway.
I don't like a rack that touches the frame at all regardless of frame material. Tire grabbers and dropout clamps are the way to keep your bike from getting dinged up or tubes crushed.
