Well that's good. Though we may not have done the same or even agree with how you did it.........you at least did something to remedy your problem. As you stated, you learned some things and saw limitations in what you did that might could have been done better.
That's how you get experience. Doing it whether it's the perfect solution or not. I do it all the time. I do it wrong quite a bit, learn from that and then do it better the next time. If I did it correctly and perfectly all the time, I'd just be following directions and not learning anything useful.
