CO2 units don't fail, they get used improperly.

I've done it. Ironically, both times it happened was when I was helping someone out. Once was just not opening the valve on the tube. And the second was not being familiar with their inflator (it was in their bag, I had nothing even though I was commuting 25 miles).

Other than that, they've been fast and flawless every time. I sometimes carry a pump as a back up, but have actually never used it.
