Wow That's a beauty! - You inspired me to drag out my 1996 Zaskar LE. I haven't riden a bike in probably 15 years, but I would like to get back into riding again. I am no longer interested in woods riding, just some city, open road, and maybe some gravel roads. I am working on a vintage 1973 Raleigh SC, but that is a work in progress that needs a frame repaint. I think I would like to turn my Zaskar into something useful for my current needs. I want to ditch the suspension seat post, the suspension fork, downhill pedals, and switch to narrower smooth road tires. I have a cromo Tange Big Fork from an old Trek Mtn bike I can use, but I don't know how to determine what length fork legs are needed when switching from a suspension fork to a rigid for a frame designed for suspension. I am seeking suggestions for how I should proceed with my conversion.
