Its got an old Judy on it and i am wondering .......can they be replaced with a rigid fork? Most suspension forks of that era are now extra mushy and just energy wasters at this point. Has anyone converted an old GT to a rigid style fork and use it reguarly? I think that is what i am looking to to at this point.
Good find for a bike that was $2000 new! I am working on the same idea for my Zaskar to change the suspension to rigid, but for different reasons. I want to use the bike for pavement riding, so the rigid fork makes sense. Surly makes
replacement rigid forks, model 1x1 it's available for replacing 80mm or 100mm fork travel. The original Judy was 63mm travel so maybe a vintage rigid fork of about 385mm may keep the geometry close? Also see
