My first road bike was built on a size 56 Scott Speedster S30 frameset from 2006. I would guess the only difference with the S40 frameset was the colourway. (Picture here if you're interested.) The absolute upper limit for tyre size was (a true) 25 mm in the back; I had tried 28 to begin with, but it would jam against both the brake bridge and at the front derailleur clamp. Still a nice frame, wouldn't mind having one to keep at my parents' for example. BTW, the factory seat post is carbon-wrapped aluminium - just so you know when evaluating it for sale or a trade.
