Bikes: Bianchi Volpe, ANT 3-speed roadster, New Albion Privateer singlespeed, Raleigh One Way singlespeed, Raleigh Professional "retro roadie" rebuild, 198? Fuji(?) franken-5-speed, 1937 Raleigh Tourist, 1952 Raleigh Sports, 1966 Raleigh Sports step-through

I bought a Bianchi Volpe new in 2013 with 9-speed Tiagra components on it, it was a later 2011 model that had been sitting around for a while at the shop. Not long after buying the bike, I went to another shop near where I worked, in search of a pair of the reach-adjustment shims, and the mechanic at that shop told me that they "generally don't have parts for a bike that old", or something to that effect.

Er...sorry, what?
