I can get a decent deal on Cycleops rollers w/AL drums, but they don't come with a resistance device, and it appears one cannot be added. They are 3.5 in diameter and from what I read the smaller drum will provide more resistance.

I'm asking because I have never used smaller drums and want to know if they would compensate with respect to resistance.
