SRAM 11 and 10-speed RD backwards compatibility

I've seen reports that a SRAM Rival 22 rear derailleur works equally well with a SRAM 10-speed cassette and rear shifter, but those reports were from 2016. I searched but couldn't really tell whether Rival 22 has changed incrementally since then. Can anyone confirm that a new 2018 Rival 22 RD will work with a 10-spd SRAM cassette and shifter?

Context: I currently have 2009 Rival 10-spd shifters, a 2015 SRAM 11-32 10-spd cassette, and 2015 Rival 10-spd RD. The RD busted today and I need to replace it. I would like to eventually upgrade to Rival 22, but for a couple of reasons don't want to do that right this minute. My hope is to replace the 10-spd RD with a Rival 22 RD right now, as a placeholder allowing me to upgrade the rest of the drivetrain to Rival 22 at the end of this year. Will I run into problems doing that?

Thanks!
