Bikes: 2008 Novara Randonee - love it. Previous bikes:Motobecane Mirage, 1972 Moto Grand Jubilee (my fave), Jackson Rake 16, 1983 C'dale ST500.

Unless the OP goes through a LOT of tubes, is willing to buy several years' supply (5, 8, 10?) and his income does not keep pace with inflation the cost savings are negligible.
