If it did happen 'west' of El Cielito intersection, then that Truck should not be passing ANYONE.
Very tragic. A co-worker that I ride with sometimes told me about it this morning, and that her husband (races cat 2 & masters) was also ran off the road the other day by one of the asphalt trucks. I'm trying to figure out where the accident was, as Gibraltar doesn't really run west of El Cielito (being that El Cielito is east/west and Gibraltar is north/south. All I can think of is that they meant north which really doesn't tell you anything since the entire climb is north of El Cielito.
I'm going with the clipping theory. This was an experienced rider, and I doubt that she lost control unless the truck was way to close to begin with.
