Albeit I feel this stand is a great deal and if you don't have one, do your own bike servicing and currently need one, I would recommend it. I passed up on it last year and had every intention of buying one this time around. So I went to my local store this morning and just couldn't do it! For the past four years I've been servicing and rebuilding close to a dozen bikes all using a homebrew stand shown below. It's a modified Jorgensen Pony Pipe Clamp that quickly clamps onto my bandsaw. Although it basically just holds the bike horizontally it does support it about two feet above the ground and has served me well. Plus, it only takes a few seconds to remove the clamp from the saw and set it aside when not needed.

So it looks like I'll save the $30 for now and just continue to use my make-shift stand. BTW, the cheap 10-speed in the stand now is a quick refurb job that I'm doing for a friend
