You can't go wrong going to your local wheel builder and have some custom wheels made. Extremely heavy, get 40 spoke, really heavy 36 spoke etc etc. Going to a wheel builder allows you to purchase each piece separately, rim, spokes and hubs and get exactly what you need.
I do agree but I have a set of "LBS" built wheels and they are not so good. they are not holding very well. I know on paper they are fine for me but the builders skill is the issue. that is why I am looking elsewhere.
