It's rare that anything happens in Rockmart. An occasional street fair and the change of seasons are about it and and there are surprisingly few places to eat in a town of that size. Nathan Dean Highway, about three miles from downtown, has the typical fast food stores - McD's, Waffle House, etc..
For a while they had even closed the bathrooms at the trailhead and there is little reason to even stop in Rockmart now. Lots of super nice riding in the nearby countryside though. The Tour de Georgai went through the area, a few miles East of Rockmart.
FYI, Mac's Bakery is downtown and a favorite with locals. Try the spicy cheese straws and check the date on the milk.
