EXCUSE ME - Me first!

A month ago I was hit by a car while going across a 4 way stop. When the ambulance showed up the guy said, "WOW, you've just been hit and your heart rate is only 140 over 70?" Normally it's 120 over 60 so I assume I was excited. But you can bet that I'm watching cars more closely now. I waited for cars to go in either direction and got most of the way across the intersection before some woman rolled the stop sign and accelerated directly into the side of my just finished custom rebuilt Pinarello Stelvio. Most of the components were trashed but hopefully the frame and fork survived unhurt. I got a lot of road rash, a smashed toe, chipped kneecap and bruised lung.

That really screwed me up on my cycling trip to Phoenix. There is no humidity there (1-2%) and each breath dries you out. If you aren't guzzling water you can't get 20 miles without dropping to a crawl.
