There are quite a few here who 'pre-ordered' in early 2017. Refunds can easily be granted for the pre-order people. So they can easily say, "They're going to get theirs before I get mine," and possibly be more relaxed about it - the exit strategy came built in.
Indeed, in other KS projects pre-orders were delivered before backers and sometimes retailer orders were also delivered before all backers receive their product.
This is what seems to happen with the Vellobike+ : the creator showed lots of packed bike ready for shipping but no backer seem to have received any of those bikes while shops have at least demo Vellobike+. So there is a great chance that the creator preferred to
deliver the first manufactured bikes to retailers to grow their business than to backers.
