Thanks mate. Regarding the chainring position, I'll probably put the ring on the inner chainring position. My 30 tooth won't go on the outer chainring position anyway. If I do that, do you know if it's feasible to put a washer/shim on each side where the cranks connect on, to move the cranks out a bit more so that the inner chainring position moves out to that centrelink position?

Your second and third paragraphs went over my head unfortunately.
