Funny you mention an FW - I have a loose FG (FW with a dyno). It seems only to need one shifter and the one on my Rudge already is marked "3 or 4." But I'm only dipping my toes into this stream, at present. I have a few Campy indexing setups to finish and a tandem to assemble before I address the Rudge in this much depth. Right now I'd be happy to overhaul the front hub, BB, and headset, and to tune up the brakes before taking a ride. I already have tires and tubes installed, serviced the chain and confirmed the AW is OK. But it needs to be able to roll, pedal, and steer. Right now I can play with spinning the rear wheel - all that needed was some oil!
I'll have to gear phreak around with the multiple sprocket idea. Do you have to cold-set the frame or dish over the rim? How do you fit the extra stuff?
I also scored a pair of aluminum rims with proper drillings, but those are part of the "deeper - later" phase. My original steel Dunlops are actually in superb condition considering they are older than I am.
And, I saw Velognome was on in January and April of this year, so maybe he'll get a notification and respond. Or I'll PM him.
