ohayo (or konnichiwa, depending on when y'all wake up)! akema*****e omedetou! i had a great time back in hogtown, but didn't get to ride as much as i would've liked with all the rain(!)...and when the weather cooperated, i was either out-of-town or with non-cyclists. oh well, nothing like lugging my bike case around the world...at least i was able to pick up some nice gear from 'wheels of bloor' (if you go, tell peter the dude from japan sent you). i was also able to satisfy some of my gastronomical cravings, including jet fuel, clafouti, terroni, saving grace, creemore beer, brar sweets, papa ceo's, etc...geez, i even stopped in at sanko for some onigiri, complete with nori, and green tea (highly recommended, btw!)...if only they also had the convenient hard-boiled eggs.
i also met up with gokiburi (who ended up helping me with some arts'n'crafty present-making. gokiburi-san, domo arigato gozaima*****a!!) for coffee, an alley walk(!) and a tour of his office. while i got to check out and ride his sannino, he only got to see my two feet. and after a wet vacation at home, i have returned to japan, where the local temperature today was 15C and i was just rocked by tremors of an earthquake.
otherwise, nothing much else to report. maybe i'll see some of you in 1.5-2 years when i return again! or give a holler if you come to japan.
p.s. gokiburi> check out the pic...is this the bike you saw with the tennis balls? the pic is of one of the cats i met at kyotoloco.
p.p.s. cavernmech> i think you might know d.proffit over at 'the mess'? if so, please say "hi" from 323, if you ever see him!
