itd be neat to hit the 20# mark, but im guessing a full carbon fork would be needed at this point, based on my component choices.

it was pretty fun to compare component while choosing what to use. Comparing weights, cost, look, etc was neat and eye opening at times. For example, threadless stems by name brands(ritchey, zipp, easton, etc) are way more expenive and heavier than a simple plain black kalloy uno.
Yeah, it's kind of interesting to compare stuff. I'm not any kind of a total weight weenie, but if you're going to the trouble of building up a top shelf frame -- or making your own! -- then it's only sensible to pay some attention to it.

Anyhow, I only mentioned it because my Mercian touring frame is about the same size and weight, and it ended up at just over 20# built up IIRC. Not sure where it's at now. My everyday wheels are 1700g. I saved over 100g by not using brifters... Ultegra cluster and chain is pretty light compared to the old stuff also. 21.5 lb is a good weight though. Not like you're really going to feel a difference. Maybe psychologically you'll feel faster if it's 20.9...
