I remember Sincity talking awhile back about how he hated people who set reserve prices, and he would come in with a high bid and then cancel his bid, just to mess the sellers up. He said that eBay never gave him more than a slap on the wrist for it. But it fits with the buying-from-himself stuff we see now.
That all said, he might have been making it up. His eBay feedback rating is extremely good.
