You said only the remote switch is bad, does that mean that the on/off switch on the lamp housing is functional? Why not just use that switch instead?

Or, if that switch is also bad, why not leave it on. Several years ago I bought a light in a clearance bin that was sold for bottle generators, no switch. I used that light for a year or two, just left it on. If for some reason I wanted it off, I pulled the connector off of the hub.
